On the day, you be encouraged to work in small groups, pairs and as a whole group. There will plenty of opportunities for questions, feedback and time to comment on personal experiences.  The course will help you confidently put into practice, some fantastic massage techniques for pregnancy.

What are the benefits of massage in pregnancy?

Pregnancy massage, also known as prenatal massage, can offer various benefits for expectant mothers, such as:

  1. Reduction of stress and anxiety: Pregnancy massage can help in relaxing the body and mind, reducing stress and anxiety levels.
  2. Alleviation of muscle aches and joint pain: The massage techniques can target specific areas like the lower back, hips, and legs, helping to reduce muscle tension and pain.
  3. Improved circulation: Massage can boost blood and lymphatic circulation, which can help in reducing swelling and improving overall health.
  4. Enhanced mood and better sleep: Many pregnant women report improved mood and better sleep quality after a massage session.
  5. Preparation for childbirth: Some believe that prenatal massage can help prepare the body for labour by promoting relaxation and reducing muscle tension.

Handouts will be provided to back up all course material.  You will leave the day feeling confident about massaging in pregnancy which is an extremely useful technique to add to your massage repertoire.

This course is taught by Jo Kellett, a highly experienced massage practitioner specialising in pregnancy and fertility massage since 1996.
