In 1991, I trained in Thai Yoga Massage, and as part of my training I embarked on a one- month vipassana retreat in Thailand. Mind/body techniques have been at the heart of my practice for the last 27 years due to the nature of my trainings. During this time, I have worked with a wide range of people in all walks of life; from editors of mainstream newspapers, journalists, venture capitalists, barristers, parents, various business professionals to drug & alcohol rehab.
I set up a Thai yoga massage private practice in 1991. the roots of this practice lie in Buddhist meditation and yoga philosophy, so it is not just seen as a mere job, but as a physical application of loving kindness, and applied meditation (Metta meditation). In 1994, I embarked on a two-year yoga teacher training course, my teacher required me to do 4 years training with her prior to this hence it was extremely thorough. In 1999, I set up a training school to run Thai Yoga Massage Diploma Training within the UK, which I continue to teach.
In April 2018 I graduated with an MA in the Traditions of Yoga & Meditation from East Asia at SOAS University London.
For the last 11 years I have run an annual Pilates & Yoga retreat abroad. I am running retreats in Crete and Sussex over the next 12 months. I also run Thai Yoga Massage workshops and intend to run another Diploma Course this year.
I have developed confidence, motivation and business skills in management, communication and public relations and have a real passion for working with people. I have a ‘hands on’ approach.
Over the years my work has been featured in The Sunday Times Magazine, Vogue, The London Evening Standard, Shape magazine, Time Out, The List, The Scotland on Sunday as well as appearing on breakfast television and BBC radio Scotland.
